BERRIEN SPRINGS, MICHIGAN – AUGUST 25, 2026 – Honor Credit Union is proud to announce the success of its 2026 Free Community Shred Days. In partnership with NAID Certified Data Guardian and Country Mile Document Destruction, Honor hosted six statewide shred events with the help of local business partners in 2026. Together, these events securely disposed of 40,915 pounds of paper.
For 12 years, Honor has proudly offered Free Community Shred Days as a complimentary service to their communities. Open to the public, with no Honor membership required, the events provide a secure and environmentally friendly way to dispose of sensitive documents and help reduce the risk of identity theft.
Documents collected at each event are securely destroyed through a certified recycling process, ensuring personal information remains protected. Beyond Shred Days, Honor promotes secure and sustainable banking options such as online and mobile banking and paperless e-statements, helping members protect their information while reducing their environmental impact.
Honor extends its appreciation to its business partners for graciously hosting Shred Day events at their locations. A sincere thank you goes out to the following businesses and non-profit organizations: Harding’s Friendly Market, Kellogg Arena, MOSAIC CCDA, Trail Point Brewing Company, and Wings Event Center for their invaluable support and partnership. Honor also hosted a Free Community Shred Day at its Gwinn Branch, serving its Northern Region.
