BERRIEN SPRINGS, MICHIGAN – NOVEMBER 5, 2026 – Honor Credit Union is proud to announce Cody Barkowski as its new Community Development Officer, serving its Decatur, Dowagiac, and Paw Paw communities.
In his new role as Community Development Officer, Barkowski will work closely with local businesses and community members to understand their goals and connect them with the financial guidance and resources needed to support long-term success. With a strong focus on helping small businesses thrive, he will help owners identify opportunities and make confident decisions for the future. His work reflects Honor’s commitment to providing local, personalized service members can count on when they need it most.
Barkowski brings more than 10 years of financial industry experience to his new role. Through his work in mortgage lending and business development, he has had the opportunity to work alongside members during some of life’s biggest milestones, finding fulfillment in helping people reach the moments they’ve worked hard to achieve. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in Logistics Management and Marketing from Central Michigan University.
Reflecting on his dedication to serving the community and helping members navigate important life moments, Barkowski said, “What I enjoy most about this role is the opportunity to work with people from all walks of life. Every person has a different story, and no two situations are the same. I really like getting to know people, learning what’s important to them, and playing a small part in helping them along the way.”
