BERRIEN SPRINGS, MICHIGAN – October 12, 2026 – On October 12, more than 400 Honor Credit Union team members will step away from their daily responsibilities to step up for their communities as part of CU Kind Day. CU Kind Day is an annual nationwide credit union movement that highlights the industry’s “people helping people” philosophy through volunteerism and acts of service in local communities.
Across Michigan, Honor employees will volunteer at more than 40 locations, supporting local nonprofits, schools, parks, food pantries, environmental organizations, and community programs. The day reflects Honor’s long-standing commitment to making a positive difference in the communities it serves.
“At Honor, community is at the heart of everything we do,” said Scott McFarland, CEO of Honor Credit Union. “CU Kind Day provides an incredible opportunity for our team to come together and demonstrate our commitment to service. We believe that when we invest our time, talents, and resources into our communities, we help create stronger, healthier places for everyone.”
Throughout the state, Honor’s volunteer efforts will support community partners such as Ottawa Elementary School in Berrien Springs, Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, Kids’ Food Basket in Grand Rapids, and Superior Watershed Partnership in Marquette. Through hands-on service projects ranging from facility improvements and landscaping to environmental cleanup and food distribution support, Honor team members will have the opportunity to make a real impact.
“At Honor, our mission goes beyond financial services,” said McFarland. “Being present, lending a helping hand, and supporting organizations that make our communities thrive are all important ways we live out our purpose. We are proud to join credit unions across Michigan in making kindness visible through action.”
