Honor Credit Union Celebrates Official Allegan Groundbreaking

Allegan Groundbreaking Ceremony

ALLEGAN, MICHIGAN – MAY 5, 2026 – Honor Credit Union officially broke ground on Thursday, April 30, 2026, on its new Allegan location, a standalone, full-service branch located at 1256 Lincoln Rd. Since opening its doors in Allegan in 2015, Honor Credit Union has continued to invest in the community, and the new location reflects that ongoing commitment to meeting members’ financial needs.

Sitting at nearly 2,800 square feet and located almost directly across from the credit union’s current site, the new Allegan Branch is slated to open in fall 2026. The building will feature enhanced amenities including a night-drop deposit box, a drive-thru with Video Teller service, and a 24-hour ATM. The full service lobby will continue to be staffed by the familiar Allegan team members the community has come to rely on for friendly, local support. Key partners on the project include Brent Holtz and Ade Adewoye of Brooks Architectural Inc. and Craig Moore of E.C. Moore Construction.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Honor Credit Union CEO Scott McFarland emphasized the significance of the project and the organization’s long-term commitment to Allegan.

“Today’s groundbreaking is about more than a new building. It’s a reaffirmation of our mission to put people first and invest in Allegan for the long haul,” stated McFarland. “We’re here to meet members where they are, supported by team members who live right here in our community. We’re dedicated to showing up for local organizations and being present when members need us. Of course, none of this would be possible without our incredible team and our volunteer board of directors, whose support makes progress like this come to life.”

Allegan Branch Manager Dan Carpenter spoke about the impact the new location will have on residents and businesses.

“We are a close-knit team dedicated to serving the Allegan community,” Carpenter said. “I’m grateful for the leaders and colleagues who make this work meaningful, and we’re excited to continue growing with the City of Allegan and expand the partnerships that help us serve our members.”

Honor Credit Union was also presented with a tribute by Amy Langeler on behalf of Michigan State Representative Rachelle Smit’s office. The tribute recognized the progress of the new branch and Honor’s continued dedication to going beyond banking as an active, engaged part of the community. Signed by State Representative Smit of the 43rd District and State Senator Aric Nesbitt of the 20th District, the tribute was formally presented during the ceremony.
