Battle Creek Patrol Dog Fundraiser

We love and value our communities we serve, and strive to give back in an effort to make them a better place. Supporting our first responders is at the core of that principal. Honor is proud to partner with the Battle Creek Police Department to help raise funds for new patrol dog, Skube!

The K-9 unit would not be possible without the support of the community. To help us continue to raise money for Skube, please consider making a PayPal donation, or buying a special K-9 shirt (pictured below). All funds will go directly to the training of, and supplies for Skube.

Our K-9 Program Involvement

Our involvement with K-9 patrol dogs started back in 2015 when several Honor member centers (formerly Post Community Credit Union) sponsored a patrol dog. Since then, our ties to local law enforcement agencies and their K-9 units have only strengthened. Our sponsorship of Battle Creek Police Department’s Skube is the sixth patrol dog we’ve been involved with. Here’s a brief look at all six.

Ace
(2015)

  • Ace was the first dog sponsored in 2015 by Honor, then known as Post Community Credit Union.
  • The dog would serve on the Battle Creek Police Department’s K-9 team.
  • A naming contest was held with coin jars placed in PCCU branches. Each jar had a name on it, and the jar with the most coins would be the name of the dog.

Rizzo
(2016)

  • A T-shirt contest was held by the second grade class at Marshall Public Schools and Pennfield Public Schools. A winner was chosen from both classes and the designs were printed on shirts and sold.

Roseco
(2017)

  • Honor donated $5,000 and held a T-shirt design contest with local elementary school students, with the winning design going on a T-shirt that was printed and sold for fundraising.
  • A naming contest was held by collecting coins in jars with different dog names at various Honor member centers.
