BERRIEN SPRINGS, MI– Jan. 28, 2020 – Honor Credit Union is excited to announce the three $500 grand prize winners of its Biggest Saver Challenge. The challenge that ran throughout 2019 was created to encourage and promote consistent money-saving habits through a savings account titled, “Biggest Saver.” Members who opened a Biggest Saver account in 2019 received additional savings tips and were entered to win $500 at the end of the year if requirements were met.
Additional incentives were put into place throughout the year to keep members on track to win the grand prize. Members with a Biggest Saver account were eligible to win a quarterly drawing of $100 if they made at least six deposits of any amount into the account during that quarter.
To complete the challenge and be eligible to win $500, Honor members with a Biggest Saver account had to make at least 26 deposits of any amount into the account by December 31, 2019. Honor team members who opened a Biggest Saver account in 2019 were entered into a separate internal challenge with the same requirements and incentives.
When the Biggest Saver Challenge officially wrapped up at the end of 2019, there were nearly 1,000 members that accepted the challenge. The three $500 Grand Prize Winners are Theresa Gleason of South Haven, Steven Zampese of Negaunee, and Ryan Meagher of Benton Harbor. Congratulations to all winners and savers.
“The Biggest Saver Challenge was a great way to encourage saving for members and team members,” commented Honor’s Portage Team Lead and internal Biggest Saver Challenge grand prize winner, Joshua Miller. “I have always been a big saver, and this provided me with an extra incentive to open a second savings account. Before I knew it, my savings tactic added up. At the end of the year, I ended up saving more than I would have without the Biggest Saver Challenge.”
