MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – March 3, 2026 – Honor Credit Union is proud to celebrate another successful season of Goals for Good, a community partnership with Northern Michigan University (NMU) Hockey that turns goals on the ice into meaningful support for local nonprofit organizations across the Upper Peninsula.
Through the program, Honor donates $100 for every NMU hockey goal scored during designated games throughout the season. This year, those goals translated into real impact, with a total of $3,100 donated to nonprofits serving communities across the UP.
The 2025–2026 season nonprofit partners included:
• Grow and Lead
• Michigan Veteran Homes DJ Jacobetti
• Superior Alliance for Independent Living
• Upper Peninsula Luge Club
• Gwinn Food System
• UP Pink Power
• Mariucci Family Beacon House
• Camp New Day UP
Each of these organizations helps make the Upper Peninsula stronger and more connected, supporting neighbors through life’s challenges and creating opportunities for people and families to thrive.
“Our sincerest thank you to Honor Credit Union for their ongoing support of our athletic department and student athletes,” said Robin Burke, Senior Associate AD at NMU. “Their support not only advances our mission and vision but also strengthens our community engagement initiatives. The Goals for Good program is a prime example of Honor Credit Union’s commitment to impactful partnerships and community giving.”
“At Honor, being part of the communities we serve means showing up with heart and finding meaningful ways to give back,” said Jamie Gollakner, Community Development Officer at Honor Credit Union. “Our partnership with NMU Hockey lets us share the excitement of the game while supporting organizations that uplift and strengthen our neighbors across the Upper Peninsula. Every goal is more than a moment on the ice—it’s a chance to make a real difference in the lives of people in our community.”
The Goals for Good program reflects Honor Credit Union’s ongoing commitment to community impact and local partnerships that help neighbors thrive both on and off the ice.
