Homebuyer Assistance Program

BERRIEN SPRINGS, MICHIGAN – June 20, 2025 – Honor Credit Union is proud to announce its participation in the 2025 HomeBoost Down Payment Assistance Program, a powerful initiative designed to support first-generation, first-time homebuyers in Indiana and Michigan. As a participating financial institution, Honor Credit Union will help eligible members access crucial funds to make homeownership more achievable and affordable.

The HomeBoost program, offered through FHLBank Indianapolis, provides down payment assistance to qualifying households at or below 120% of the Area Median Income. Participants must be purchasing a primary residence in either Indiana or Michigan. The 2025 round of HomeBoost officially opens on July 9, and interested homebuyers are encouraged to reach out to an Honor Credit Union mortgage lending expert for guidance on how to apply.

Honor Credit Union, with deep roots in community service and financial empowerment, views this opportunity as a natural extension of its mission to serve and support its members. The credit union is committed to walking alongside homebuyers through each step of the process, offering personalized guidance and expert financial advice.

“Homeownership is a life-changing milestone, and this program helps remove some of the barriers that first-generation buyers often face,” said Kim O’Donoghue, Honor Credit Union AVP of Real Estate Sales. “We are honored to be a part of the HomeBoost Down Payment Assistance Program and proud to help more families plant roots, build equity, and create lasting memories in their own homes.”
