Honor Credit Union’s 2025 Community Impact Year-In-Review 

BERRIEN SPRINGS, MICHIGAN — January 21, 2026 — As a not-for-profit financial institution, giving back to the members and communities it serves has been part of Honor Credit Union’s mission for more than 90 years. The 2025 Community Impact Summary reflects another year of meaningful investment in people, organizations, and communities across Michigan and Northern Indiana. Rooted in putting people first since its beginning, Honor continues to focus on supporting education, strengthening communities, and helping members build confident financial futures.

Your Community

Throughout 2025, Honor Credit Union contributed $860,000 to 447 nonprofit organizations from the Upper Peninsula to Southwest Michigan. These contributions supported vital initiatives including community events, food insecurity relief, and local nonprofit programs, reinforcing Honor’s commitment to making a difference where members live and work.

Beyond financial support, Honor team members dedicated 1,200 volunteer hours, with 769 hours spent supporting 357 local events. Honor also hosted 10 Free Community Shred Days, securely shredding and recycling 66,960 pounds of paper, helping protect personal information while promoting environmental sustainability.

Your Schools

Founded as Berrien Teachers Credit Union, Honor’s legacy in education remains central to its mission. In 2025, Honor awarded $30,000 in Community Commitment Scholarships to 12 graduating Michigan high school seniors and invested $131,344 into 123 school programs across Michigan. Additionally, $20,000 was awarded to 40 Michigan teachers through classroom grants. Together, these investments totaled $181,344, directly supporting students, educators, and schools statewide.

Your Money

With a continued focus on members’ long-term financial success, in 2025, $27,320,510 was returned to members through rewards, dividends, and savings programs. Members earned $2,123,325 in checking rewards, $2,018,863 in credit card rewards, and $22,983,067 through savings accounts, money markets, and certificates. 672 members achieved homeownership with an Honor mortgage. Additionally, Honor helped get 3,918 members behind the wheel, including 95 first-time auto buyers taking a big step forward.
