Help Us Support the Kalamazoo County Sheriff K9 Program

Help Support the Kalamazoo County Sheriff K9 Program

The Honor Credit Union Foundation is proud to support the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s K9 Team and we're proud to announce the name of Kalamazoo County's newest patrol dog is Roseco (prounounced Ross-co). The name honors Richland native and fallen Wayne State University police officer Collin Rose.

Roseco will live and work with its handler and be used for drug detection, tracking, officer safety, demonstrations, and public relations in the community.

In order to purchase Roseco, we need your help! Each new patrol dog costs a total of $20,000! That cost covers the purchase of the dog, the equipment they will need, such as a special temperature controlled cage, openers for the patrol car doors, a kennel for the house the dog will live in, and the cost of sending the dog and handler to their training school.

We invite you to click the donate button below and make a contribution to a great cause. Every dollar raised will be donated 100% to the K9 program.

The Honor Credit Union Foundation and the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office could still use your help raising funds to support the K9 program, so if you are able to, please click and donate to support a great cause. Every dollar counts!

Community Involvement

An Emmett Township Public Safety officer kneels next to a patrol dog that was purchased with fundraising help from Honor Credit Union.Second grade students at Gull Lake Community Schools will play a role in this project by participating in a logo drawing contest for the design of a t-shirt that will be sold at all Kalamazoo branch locations to raise additional funds for the purchase of the patrol dog. The logo design submissions will be displayed at Honor Credit Union’s Gull Lake Branch.

Any business or community members that would like to submit a monetary donation and be listed as a sponsor on the t-shirt are encouraged to contact the program’s administrator, Kayde Gudzikowski, at 800-442-2800 ext. 9060.

Gudzikowski, Honor’s Gull Lake Branch Manager, believes that Honor’s role in this program provides yet another way for the credit union to give back to the communities it serves. According to Gudzikowski, “Honor is excited to help the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office in their efforts to keep our members and our communities safe.”
