Honor Credit Union in Negaunee Invites Community to Celebrate the Retirement of Gail Thompson
NEGAUNEE, MICHIGAN – March 29, 2019 – Honor Credit Union invites the community to join in honoring the retirement of its team member, Gail Thompson, and to celebrate the 35 years she spent working in the credit union industry. The open house will be held at Honor Credit Union in Negaunee on Friday, April 5th, from 2:00-4:00 pm.
Gail Thompson began working for Negaunee Community Federal Credit Union, later named SIR Federal Credit Union, in 1984. Within her small team, she took on the responsibilities of a teller, loan processer and accounting. As the credit union grew, Gail worked in the Accounting Department and handled ACH, the Visa program and daily accounting tasks. When Honor Credit Union joined forces with SIR FCU in 2014, Gail moved into the Operations Department where she used her many years of knowledge and skills to assist her teammates with credit union operations and accounting.
“Gail is the unofficial greeter of the Honor team in Negaunee, along with the visiting teams. She has a smile to welcome them each morning and a warm goodnight in the evening,” commented Tracy Sanders, Honor’s Operations Manager. “It has been a pleasure to have Gail as part of the Operations team and I have been honored to work with her for the last 5 years. Her 35 years of knowledge show her commitment to excellence when serving the members and her team. She will be greatly missed by all, but we are excited for her to begin her next adventure in retirement and enjoy more time with her family.”
In Honor of Gail Thompsons’ retirement from Honor Credit Union and to celebrate her last 35 years in the credit union industry, an open house will be held in her honor on Friday, April 5, from 2:00-4:00 pm at Honor Credit Union located at 490 US-41 in Negaunee. The event is open and free to the public.
